Inner Circle Class of 2018 - Fernanda Cotelessa

inner circle

mentoring group

class of 2018

ARTIST: FERNANDA COTELESSA
PROJECT: SEED

PROJECT STATEMENT

This project started with the intent of educating others about going through depression. As it progressed, however, so did my perspective about being a human being, about facing your social personas, about embracing your fears and shadows. This work-in-progress project is now about life and death, meaning and loss, connection and solitude, wholeness and emptiness. More importantly, it is about the beautiful complexity of mine (or yours) existence. Like a little seed, we have it all inside us.

ARTIST BIO

Fernanda was born in Brazil. A psychologist, she pursued a career in people development until she moved to Europe in 2009. After completing her master's degree in Social Psychology, she realized that going back to the corporate world would not be fulfilling to her anymore. Self-thought in photography, Fernanda combined this passion with her intrinsic interest in human connections, becoming a Documentary Family Photographer. With DAH mentoring, she explored a more personal and conceptual form of art.
